work days
The last 3days we worked at Ngeya primary school side by side with the Kenyan students.
The money that Bodwell raised was used to build a kitchen at the school and we helped with building carried water for mixing concrete, plastered floor, spackled the wall, strained stones from the cement. We also built the foundation of the demonstration garden by making raised beds, and laying down irrigation tubes.
It doesn’t sound like much, but we all worked hard and we are all exhausted.
On the last day we planted the trees with Kenyan students and students from Ngeya.
We are all so happy for what we did!! (>_<)v

It has been 5 days since we left Canada...
Hi everyone!! We are sorry that we couldn't write because we have limited access to the internet.
For the first couple of days, we were camping with the Kenyan student on Lake Naivasha. We played games to get to know each other. We went to a game(animal) park and had a boat ride with the hippos. On the way back to Maai Mahiu we visited both Longonot and Maai Mahiu secondary schools.
Today, we visited Michael's home. He is sponsered by Bodwell. We met with his family and we shared stories. Later on we toured CTC with the director Nathan and learned about their programs. 4 volunteers from CTC showed us Maai Mahiu from a local person's perspective.
We are having an amazing experience and we will write again soon!!=) Bodwell Kenya Team '09

Bodwell Team Leaves Canada...!

Ms. Mali Bain was sad to leave you all at the airport. Good luck, team! Take care of yourselves, and be inspired by the beautiful country you visit. Greet all in Kenya for me, and tell them "MaliBain atarudi mwaka ujao" - Mali Bain will return next year.
Remember, a combination of Ideas and Partnership - that's the key.
